The world's largest mobile operator by revenue, Vodafone, today said it will continue to hold 4% indirect stake in Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Airtel, putting at rest the speculation that the British company is keen to get out of Bharti completely.
"We have that stake (four per cent in Bharti Airtel)... one day we will discuss (Vodafone and Bharti Group) what to do with it. To have a discussion on any issue we need to have both the partners," Vodafone Plc Chief Executive Vittorio Colao.
Vodafone exited the Bharti Group partly in which it was holding 10% stake, while it's indirect stake in the group's mobile arm, Bharti Airtel, is still there.
There was a lot of speculation that Vodafone is keen to get out of Bharti completely.
