The tribunal issued notice to K'taka on application filed by ex-Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji challenging his transfer order

The Central Administrative Tribunal today issued a notice to Karnataka on an application filed by former Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji challenging his transfer order.
Hearing the petition by Mirji, Judge Shanthappa ordered issue of notice to the government represented by the Chief Secretary and adjourned hearing of the matter to next week. On April 5, Mirji was transferred and Home Secretary Raghavendra H Auradkar posted in his place. A notification said the order was issued as per the direction of EC "for smooth conduct of elections in a free and fair manner".
