DATA STORY: India's Covid fatalities have been above 4,000 on 11 of the past 15 days

India has so far administered 26,289,290 vaccine doses. That is 742.83 per cent of its total caseload, and 13.89 per cent of its population

India on Saturday reported a net reduction of 104,525 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 2,923,400. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 18.61 per cent (one in 5). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Saturday, it added 257,299 cases to take its total caseload to 26,289,290. And, with 4,194 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 295,525, or 1.12 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 1,458,895 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Friday, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 193,372,819.
