The Union Water Resources Ministry has released Rs 315 crore for construction of toilets along Ganga river.
The Ministry released the money to Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation for building toilets according to an action plan under Swachh Bharat campaign (Gramin) during 2016-17.
The Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Ministry had released Rs 263 crore for the purpose during the previous fiscal, an official statement said.
"So far, 14,500 toilets have been constructed under this scheme," the statement reads.
