Himachal invites 1400 investors

Baldev S Chauhan Shimla
In an effort to attract industrial investment to Himachal Pradesh, the state government has written to 1,400 investors inviting them to take part in a mega event in Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad between November 5 and November 8 this year, a top official said on Sunday.

The state government is promising a mobile single-window clearance authority, saying maximum issues regarding investment in the hill state will be approved on the spot. The five-day event is being organised in three cities with the help of the Confederation of Indian Industry. The delegation led by the state chief minister Virbhadra Singh and top officials during the interaction with the representatives of the industrial houses will tell them about the various incentives being provided to investors. The unique attractions offered are uninterrupted and reliable power supply, responsive administration and industrial peace. In the second phase an 'investors meet' will be held in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and New Delhi.

A combined intra-departmental application form has been made available to facilitate entrepreneurs and time-bound clearance is being given within a period of 90 days, the official said.
