Separatist leader Yaseen Malik was today detained by police near Lal Chowk here as he tried to take out a protest rally against the recent "mysterious killings" in the Kashmir valley.

The JKLF chairman was detained along with some of his other associates near Abi Guzar, police said.<br />

Malik had earlier criticised the killing of a father-son duo in Sopore and a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Tangmarg.
