AIADMK will vote against FDI in Parliament: Jayalalithaa

AIADMK in TN has nine Lok Sabha members

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today said that her party will vote against FDI in Retail in the Parliament, if the Union Government decides to go for voting. Besides, the Chief Minister also said it will not allow FDI in retail in Tamil Nadu and AIADMK's stand on TMC leader and West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee proposed no-confidence motion against UPA government would be decided based on numbers.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with party MPs on the AIADMK's strategy during the winter session of Parliament, the AIADMK Supermo said that “we will vote against FDI in retail if it come up for voting in Parliament”. It may be noted, the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu has got nine Lok Sabha members.

To a question on what is AIADMK's stand on Mamata Banerjee's proposed no-confidence motion against UPA government, she said “so far nobody has approached us, if anybody approach us for support, we will decide based on how many are supporting and how many are not. It will be decided based on numbers. If the no-confidence motion comes, it has to be successful. So far nobody has approached us for support,” she said.

Responding to a question on the Comptroller and Auditor General in 2G allocation was wrong and there was no scam, the Chief Minister said, “congress is an enacting a drama”.

Jayalalithaa also said her party would welcome for mid-term elections and her party is also ready to face the elections anytime, To a question about Rahul Gandhi being projected as Prime Ministerial candidate, she said Congress has the right and freedom to choose its nominee for the top post.
