Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked industries department officials to invite expression of interest from private developers to partner with the establishment of the three national investment and manufacturing zones (NIMZs) proposed in the state.
While reviewing the progress on the establishment of NIMZs in Medak, Chittoor and Prakasam districts that are still at a preliminary stage, the chief minister asked the officials to send the approved proposals to the Government of India and also initiate steps to attract investors and partners for these projects simultaneously, according to the chief minister's office.
Sumitomo Corporation of Japan and Mahindra Lifespaces of the Mahindra & Mahindra group have already expressed interest in partnering with Chittoor and Medak NIMZs respectively, the CMO said.
The chief minister suggested that provisions for schools, hospitals and developed house-sites should also be incorporated in the detailed project reports of the respective NIMZ."The chief minister approved the delineated site for Medak NIMZ to the extent of 12,635 acres. The land extent for Chittoor NIMZ was also approved," it said. An IAS officer will also be appointed to oversee the establishment of these investment zones, according to the statement.
