Gitex to feature Computer Shopper

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the organisers of Gitex Hyderabad, have announced that the third edition of Gitex, scheduled to take place at the Hitex International Exhibition Centre from January 12 to 14 in Hyderabad, will feature a retail component called Gitex Computer Shopper.
"We are introducing the Gitex Computer Shopper concept at the Hyderabad edition for the first time and will offer exhibitors an opportunity to feature deals on a wide selection of computer hardware, software, peripherals, telecommunication products and multi-media options," DWTC general manager (exhibitions, leasing and operations) Abdulla T Qassem, said in a press release here .
Qassem noted that leadinginformation and communication technology ( ICT) companies have indicated willingness to participate in Gitex Hyderabad 2004. They include Microsoft, Vanenberg Asia, HSBC, Iomega, STPI, HYSEA, L&T Infocity, BSNL, ELCOT, Tamil Nadu, ADP Wilco, Dubai Internet City, SAIF Zone, Sharjah, IT&C Department, Andhra Pradesh and DIT Karnataka among others.
The event has extensive support from the IT industry in the region including the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Nasscom, CII, HSBC and Hyderabad Software Exporters Association and others.
Nasscom will be conducting a conference on eGovernance, ITES including (BPO), IT Services and Emerging Opportunities along side Gitex Hyderabad 2004. Gitex Hyderabad was launched in 2002 to serve the huge Indian market and has over the last couple of years become an excellent business platform for companies to display latest technologies and launch new products and services.
Running alongside the event is the Second Asia IT ministers summit meet and IT industry forum to be held concurrently with the show that will attract IT Ministers, government and business delegations from over 24 countries.
Computer Shopper Hyderabad will put on display a vast range of first-class consumer options to excite the public's appetite for the newest IT products available in the region. "We hope the three-day event will turn Hitex into an ideal venue for vendors to reach consumers keen to own the newest products in the IT sector with deals in hardware, software, office equipment, computer accessories or the newest in audio, video and electronic equipment," Qassem remarked.
