Kenya import duty worries India

India has raised concerns over the high import duty imposed by Kenya on textiles. The issue came up for discussion between Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and his Kenyan counterpart Chirauli Mwakwere. Kenya has imposed 25 per cent import duty on yarn and fabrics, 50 per cent on made ups, besides 16 per cent Value Added Tax on imports.
