Lok Pal logjam: Rahul Gandhi meets PM

Rahul Gandhi today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for consultations as government stepped up efforts to resolve the logjam over the Lok Pal issue.

The meeting came close on the heels of the Prime Minister appealing to Anna Hazare to end his fast and naming Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to negotiate with his team.

After a 30-minute meeting with Prime Minister in Parliament House, Gandhi drove along with him to 7 Race Course Road where the consultations continued with some senior ministers joining them.

While the government has called for an all party meeting tomorrow, Congress is holding a meeting of its Parliamentarians on Thursday to seek their views on the issue.
