Pappu Yadav Demands Cbi Probe Into Dwivedi Murder

Bihar Samajwadi Party president Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav yesterday demanded a CBI enquiry into the killing of former UP minister Brahma Dutt Dwivedi. Terming the BJP-BSP alliance in UP as opportunistic, Yadav, MP, told reporters here that his party feared under the present government the enquiry into the killing would not not be impartial. He said the alliance came to power when the state Governor, Romesh Bhandari had almost decided to hand over the inquiry to the CBI. Predicting that the alliance would not last for more than five months, Yadav said it would further strenghthen the Samajwadi Party led by Mulayam Singh Yadav in the state. Referring to the reported statement of Bihar Chief Minister and national Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad, holding the SP responsible for the alliance, Yadav alleged that Prasad had always maintained double standards on UP affairs ever since the state was going to polls last year.
Even though the JD forged electoral alliance with the Samajwadi Party, Prasad always favoured Mayawati as Chief Minister, he added.
