Nath, who will lead India's delegation at the Ministerial Meeting beginning on July 21, is likely to receive a "negotiating space" for a multilateral trade agreement with far-reaching consequences for the country's farmers and fledgling industries.
However, the commerce minister is likely to delay his departure for the meeting because of the confidence vote on July 22 in Parliament.
Commerce Secretary G K Pillai will accompany Nath for briefing the prime minister, sources said.
