Rahul to bat for Azharuddin on May 7

The ongoing IPL might not be able to dampen the election pitch in Moradabad as voters there watch star campaigner Rahul Gandhi bat for former captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who is contesting on a Congress ticket from the constituency.

Continuing his hectic campaigning for Congress nominees in Uttar Pradesh, Rahul will address an election rally on behalf of the cricketer-turned-politician in the constituency on May seven for the last leg of polling.

The Congress general secretary is set to hold three other poll meetings on the same day in Bareilly, Dhaurhara and Shahjahanpur, party spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said here.     

Congress has fielded Pravin Singh Aron from Bareilly, Jitin Prasad from Dhaurhara and Ummed Singh from Shahjahanpur.
