The UGC carried out inspection of the University in April and has declared it "unfit" for funds, official sources said today. The University runs post-graduate courses in eight technical subjects but teaching of these courses is being conducted on a part time basis, the sources, quoting the UGC team's observation, said.
Responding to queries, Vice-Chancellor Damodar Sharma said the University has sought permission of the Rajasthan state government to appoint necessary teaching staff and convert its part time MBA and civil, electrical and electronics engineering courses to full time ones.
According to rules, each course needs a professor, an associate professor and an assistant professor, Sharma said, adding he was hopeful the university would receive the sanctions soon.
