Yechury happy with Third Front presence in Delhi

The Left parties may not be a reckoning electoral factor in the national capital but senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury today said despite the odds the presence of CPI candidate was a "happy" thing.  

"Basically in Delhi, the main fight is between Congress and BJP. However, I am happy with the presence of third front in south Delhi," Yechury told reporters after casting his vote in a polling booth in Vasant Kunj of south Delhi seat. CPI candidate Shrichand Tanwar is contesting from the south Delhi constituency. 

However, he admitted that the non-Congress, non-BJP votes are being divided as BSP has also fielded a candidate from the seat.  "Well there is a third front candidate, a Left nominee in south Delhi. It is a nice thing that first time we are giving a fight in Delhi," he added.
