The Joint Forum of Gramin Bank Unions, the apex body of seven all India rural bank unions across the country, has called for a three-day nationwide strike from June 16 till June 18, 2008.

The union is demanding implementation of Banking Pension Settlement, 1993 and 2004 in RRBS, parity with sponsor banks in payment of all other allowances and benefits and service conditions as directed by the Supreme Court, continuance of the compassionate appointment scheme, 1982 in RRBs, proper and uniform manpower planning, recruitment and promotion policy in RRBs </P></p></table>
