RBI's net purchase of dollar at $5.43 bn in April 2015

Flows into NRI deposits witnessed a healthy jump of $2.35 bn in April 2015

The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) released data on its foreign currency operations in April 2015 according to which net purchases stood at $5.43 billion compared with $7.67 billion the previous month.

The outstanding net forward purchases was at $5.17 billion compared with $8.32 billion the previous month.

The flows into NRI deposits witnessed a healthy jump of $2.35 billion in April 2015 compared with $1.40 billion in the same period of the previous year.

The outstanding deposits were $116.38 billion in April 2015.
