While discussions regarding FAME Scheme have been held with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) from time to time, no formal request to increase the outlay or to extend the coverage of scheme has been received from SIAM.
The overall FAME Scheme is proposed to be implemented over a period of 6 years, till 2020. However, the Phase-1 of the scheme is being implemented over a period of 2 years i.e. 2015-16 and 2016-17 commencing from 1st April 2015.
Based on the outcome and experience gained in Phase-I, the scheme shall be reviewed appropriately with inputs from stakeholders for implementation and allocation of funds in the post 31st March 2017 period.
