As announced by Minister of Railways, a high-tech centralized network of screens across major stations, known as Rail Display Network is proposed, which will enable real time flow of information to passengers and also unlock advertising potential. A feasibility study was done by RailTel who have been assigned with the task. The Rail Display Network project has been recommended for Proof of Concept which is presently under implementation at five stations viz. Delhi, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Jaipur and Varanasi.
After implementation of the Proof of Concept, final decision to roll out the network will be taken.
