Leaning Tower of Pisa losing famous tilt
The structure has straightened up by an inch after an 11-year project to reinforce its foundations

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is continuing its steady return to "straightness" even after several "rescue" interventions.
The structure has straightened up by an inch after an 11-year project to reinforce its foundations, the Daily Express reported.
According to an annual report released by the official surveillance group in charge of monitoring the famously tilting structure, the tower has recovered roughly 2.5 centimeters (almost one inch) of its vertical incline between 2001 and 2013.
Report said that since 1992, the vertical inclination of the tower has moved from 4.5 meters to 4.1.
