Samsung Electronics today said it has sold 10 million units of its latest smartphone Galaxy S4 globally in less than a month of its global launch on April 27. It took almost double the time for its previous model Galaxy S III to reach the 10-million mark.

The South Korean electronics major has said in a statement that the Galaxy S 4 was estimated to be selling at a rate of four units per second.

It took Samsung about 50 days to sell 10 million units of Galaxy S III, about five months to sell the same number of units of Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S took seven months to touch the number. “At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people,” said J K Shin, CEO and President of the IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.
