Barley prices declined by Rs 16.50 to Rs 1,355 per quintal in futures trading today on increased selling by traders in line with weak spot markets sentiment.
Marketmen said fall in demand from beer and cattle-feed making industries against sustained arrivals from growing regions in physical markets, mainly led the fall in future prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley prices for far April contract slided by Rs.16.50, or 1.20% to Rs.1,355 per quintal, with an open interest of 380 lots.
Most active current November contract eases by Rs.4, or 0.31% to Rs.1,277 per quintal, having an open interest of 6,730 lots.
