Shares of Bharti Airtel were up nearly 2% at Rs 321 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company said it overseas subsidiary Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) BV will sell stakes in two African operations to French telecom major Orange.
Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) BV has sgined an agreement with Orange to sell 100% equity stakes in Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone, the company said in a release today.
The consolidated revenues of the two companies is around 275 million euros. These acquisitions will ne implemented in partnership with Orange's subsidiaries in Cote de Ivoire and Senegal, the release added.

The stock opened at Rs 320 and touched a high of Rs 321. At 9:55am, over 239,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
