Cardamom up by 0.4% on rising demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Rising for the second straight day, cardamom prices gained 0.44% to Rs 802.40 per kg in futures trade today on strong demand in the spot market.

Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month December traded higher by Rs 3.50, or 0.44% to Rs 802.40 per kg in business turnover of 6 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts edged up by Rs 2.70, or 0.35%, to Rs 778.00 per kg in 97 lots.

Market analysts said apart from firm trend at spot market on strong demand, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
