Copra drops on stockists selling

Copra prices dropped at the spices market here today on the back of offloading by stockists coupled with reduced domestic demand. 

Copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur Mumbai declined by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 4,900 and Rs 6,700 from overnight closing level of Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,800 respectively. 

Copra office Alapuzha and copra edible Mumbai both fell by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 5,100 and Rs 5,850, as against Rs 5,150 and Rs 5,900 yesterday.

While, black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached maintained a stable trend in the absence of necessary buying.

Following are today's closing rates in rupees, with the previous rates in brackets:

 

Black Pepper (per kilo) 211/225 (211/225), ginger bleached (per kilo) 235 (235), ginger unbleached (per kilo) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,100 (5,150)
