Eicher Motors gains on robust Royal Enfield sales in February

Total motorcycle sales increased 49% to 30,240 units in February 2015 compared with 20,343 units in February 2014

Shares of Eicher Motors were up over 2% at Rs 16,576 after the company today announced robust sales in February for its motorcycle division Royal Enfield.

Motorcycles with engine capacity upto 350cc jumped 50% to 26,499 units in February 2015 compared with 17,721 units in the same month last year whie motorcycles with capacity above 350cc surged 43% to 3,741 units compared to 2,622 units in February 2014, the company said in a release.

Export of motorcycles were up 49% at 749 units compared with 503 units in February 2015.

Total motorcycle sales increased 49% to 30,240 units in February 2015 compared with 20,343 units in the corresponding month last year.
 

The stock opened at Rs 16,510 and touched a high of Rs 16,699. At 10:15AM, over 23,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
