			Shares of JSW Energy rallied 11% to Rs 75.40 on the BSE after the company said it has entered into a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jaiprakash Power Ventures (JPVL) to acquire 100% stake of its 500 megawatt (MW) Bina Thermal Power Plant in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.<br />

			The company has also concluded the acquisition of 100% of the securities of Himachal Baspa Power Company (HBPCL) which has two operating hydro power assets &ndash; i) 300 megawatt (MW) Baspa &ndash; II HEP and ii) 1,091 MW Karcham Wangtoo HEP &ndash; for an assets value of Rs 9,700 crore including inter-alia Rs 300 crore which is payable upon receipt of certain additional consents and approvals related to the Karcham Wangtoo HEP, JSW Energy said in a press release.<br />

			The trading volumes on the counter more than doubled with a combined 5.5 million shares changed hands on the BSE and NSE till 01:15 PM.<br />
			<br />
			Shares of JPVL have moved higher by 5% to Rs 5.82 on the BSE. A combined 7.43 million shares changed hands on both the exchanges so far.</div>
