Lead falls by 0.36% on low demand

Speculators reduced their holdings driven by a weak demand in the spot market.

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices fell by 0.36% to Rs 123.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their holdings driven by a weak demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July traded lower by 45 paise, or 0.36%, to Rs 123.40 per kg in business turnover of 262 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August edged lower by 40 paise or 0.32%, to Rs 124.45 per kg in 10 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in spot markets due to sluggish demand amid weakness in base metals at the London Metal Exchange mainly kept pressure on lead futures here.
