Mentha oil declined further by Rs 21.20 to Rs 1,191.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market following increased arrivals from major producing centre of Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September fell by Rs 21.20, or 1.74%, to Rs 1,191.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 240 lots.

The October contract fell by Rs 16.40, or 1.33%, to Rs 1,209.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 966 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators amid increased arrivals in the spot market.
