Mentha oil prices rose by 3.98% to Rs 1,005.80 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained by Rs 38.50, or 3.98%, to Rs 1,005.80 per kg with a trading volume of 536 lots.
Similarly, mentha oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 36.90, or 3.81%, to Rs 1,003.30 per kg, having a business turnover of 1,827 lots.
Marketmen said fresh buying by traders following pick-up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
