Shares of construction and engineering company NCC has surged 5% to Rs 88 on National Stock Exchange (NSE) after foreign institutional investors (FII) bought nearly one percentage point stake in the company through the open market.
On Friday, 19 December 2014, Van Eck VIP Emerging Markets Fund bought 3.81 million shares or 0.68% stake in NCC at an average price of Rs 82.90 per share via bulk deal, the NSE data shows.
The stock opened at Rs 84.65 and touched a 52-week high of Rs 90.25 on NSE. A combined 9.18 million shares changed hands on the counter so far on NSE and BSE.
Meanwhile, in past three trading sessions, the stock rallied 25% from Rs 70.60 on December 17, 2014 as compared to 2.6% rise in the benchmark CNX Nifty.
