Potato weakens by 0.12% on adequate supply

Slackened demand against adequate supplies on increased arrivals from producing region influenced potato prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices weakened by 0.12% to Rs 684.60 per quintal in futures trading today owing to slackened demand against adequate supplies on increased arrivals from producing region.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September traded lower by 80 paise or 0.12%, to Rs 684.60 in business turnover of 195 lots.

Likewise, the potato for delivery in August fell marginally by 40 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 728.60 per quintal in 369 lots.

Market analysts attributed weak potato futures to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing belts.
