Regulators look to assess nationwide financial literacy in survey

Study will cover 75,000 people across 35 states and Union Territories

The National Centre for Financial Education has appointed consultancy firm Mott MacDonald India to carry out a nationwide survey on financial inclusion and literacy.

The study will cover 75,000 people across 35 states and Union Territories, according to a note on the Securities and Exchange Board of India or Sebi's website.

The survey was at the behest of the Financial Stability and Development Council and is set to be completed by August 2014, it said.
