Sensex down 8pts; breadth slightly positive

The Sensex is now down eight points at 12,875.

SBI has advanced 1.4% to Rs 1,047. ICICI Bank, Hero Honda  and HLL are up 1% each at Rs 735, Rs 765 and Rs 234, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications are the other major gainers.

HDFC Bank has dropped 2.5% to Rs 984, and HDFC has shed 2% to Rs 1,483.

Satyam and ONGC are down 1% each to Rs 446 and Rs 1,157, respectively.

BHEL and TCS are the other prominent losers.

The market breadth is slightly positive - out of 1,908 stocks traded so far, 972 have advanced, 876 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
