Sensex flat in late morning trades; Tata Motors up 5%

The Sensex opened nearly flat at 8,804 - down 10 points. The index, thereafter, moved up to a high of 8,859, before slipping into red to a low of 8,719. The index is now almost flat at 8,818 - up four points.

Jaiprakash Associates and Mahindra & Mahindra have slumped 6.5% each to Rs 62 and Rs 269, respectively.

Wipro and Tata Power have plunged over 3% each to Rs 210 and Rs 692, respectively.

Infosys and NTPC have shed 2.5% each at Rs 1,200 and Rs 175, respectively.

Sun Pharma, Sterlite, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever and BHEL have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,079, Rs 238, Rs 650, Rs 248 and Rs 1,341, respectively.

 

Tata Motors has rallied 5% to Rs 139. Reliance and ICICI Bank have moved up around 2% each to Rs 1,158 and Rs 385, respectively.
