Sensex in green; SBI advances 2%

The Sensex is now up 54 points at 14,710.

The NSE Nifty is up 13 points at 4,426.

Grasim has surged over 3% to Rs 1,895.

Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Steel have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 175 and Rs 697, respectively.

Maruti, Ranbaxy and SBI have gained 2.3% each at Rs 574, Rs 522 and Rs 1,534, respectively.

ACC has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 588. Satyam and Tata Power have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 398 and Rs 1,135, respectively.

Infosys, HDFC Bank and Hindalco are up over 1% each at Rs 1,661, Rs 1,119 and Rs 142, respectively.

 

TCS has shed 2.4% at Rs 819. ONGC has slipped 1.8% to Rs 979.

HDFC and Reliance are down 1.3% each at Rs 2,370 and Rs 2,271, respectively.

Out of 2,627 stocks traded so far, 1,848 have advanced, 709 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
