Nifty down 36pts; ONGC, Reliance slip 2%

The Sensex is now down 99 points at 14,557.

The NSE Nifty is down 36 points at 4,377.

TCS has shed 2.8% at Rs 816.

ONGC, Reliance, HDFC and BHEL have dropped around 2% each to Rs 975, Rs 2,252, Rs 2,353 and Rs 1,722, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Sterlite have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 515 and Rs 623, respectively.

DLF, Tata Steel and NTPC are down over 1% each at Rs 513, Rs 673 and Rs 175, respecively.

Maruti has gained 1.7% at Rs 570. Tata Power and Satyam are up 1% each at Rs 1,128 and Rs 396, respectively.

 

Out of 2,519 stocks traded so far, 1,650 have advanced, 808 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
