Zinc up 0.4% on spot demand, global cues

Metal for delivery in November traded higher by 0.38%

Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.43% to Rs 117.90 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions, amid domestic spot and firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October increased by 50 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 117.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 454 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November traded higher by 45 paise, or 0.38%, to Rs 119.30 per kg in a turnover of 23 lots.

Traders said besides improved spot demand, a firming trend in select base metals overseas, mainly led to the rise in zinc prices at futures trade here.
