11 killed in J-K after vehicle falls into gorge

In a tragic accident, at least 11 people were killed and three sustained injuries when a vehicle they were traveling in rolled down a gorge at Kunda Mod in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir here on Saturday.

"The SUV lost its control and fell into a gorge. The vehicle was going from Chandrakot to Rajgarh," said District Collector Showkat Aijaz Bhat in a statement.

The local police quickly launched a rescue operation and recovered the bodies from the gorge.

Those injured in the accident have been shifted to a local hospital, where they are being treated for the injuries.

Further investigation is underway.
