At least five people have been killed in a suicide attack inside a mosque in North-Eastern Nigeria, the local media has reported.

According to the reports, a suicide bomber went inside the mosque as a worshipper and blew himself up there.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has said that the attack happened during the early morning prayers.

"A male suicide bomber disguised as a worshipper entered the mosque while people were gathering for the morning prayers. He detonated his explosives. He killed five people and injured several others," the member said.

Last week, 13 people were killed and several others injured in twin bomb blasts in the restive northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri.
