Akhilesh Yadav supporters protest in Lucknow, demand his reinstation as Samajwadi Party state president

Two days after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was removed from the post of Samajwadi Party state president, his supporters staged a protest today in Lucknow demanding that he should be made the state party chief again.

His supporters gathered outside SP supermo Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence raising slogans like "Netaji Nyay karo".

The supporters were also protesting outside the state party office in Lucknow.

Yesterday, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav met Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadavat his Lucknow residence and reportedly brokered a peace deal between the two

Earlier, the Samajwadi Party superemo removed Akilesh as its state president and appointed his uncle and Cabinet Minister Shivpal in his place.

 

The announcement, signed by Mulayam, came on a day when Akhilesh sacked Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, who was considered close to Shivpal.
