Amy Pascal steps down as Sony Pictures' co-chair post 'vicious' email hack

Sony Pictures' co-chair Amy Pascal has reportedly resigned from the post after a cyber attack on the Hollywood studio revealed her private emails.
Pascal is set to start a new production company that will launch in May 2015, reported the BBC.
The treasure trove of confidential correspondences and data leaked during the "vicious" hack attack revealed a slew of racially-charged messages exchanged between Producer Scott Rudin and Pascal targeting President Barack Obama.
Pascal had apologized for the revelations.
She said in a statement that she was "energized" to start "a new chapter" after having spent almost her "entire" professional life at Sony Pictures.
Pascal added that her transition to a production role had been on cards "for some time.
