Baltimore jury charges 6 cops in Freddie Gray's death

A grand jury has brought charges against all the six Baltimore policemen in the death of 25-year-old black man, Freddie Gray, who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in police custody in April, and died a week later.
Although the grand jury did not return false imprisonment charges that were brought against some of the officers, the revised charges announced by State Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby on Thursday included, second-degree murder, reported the BBC.
Mosby had earlier brought in the false imprisonment charges, claiming that that Gray's arrest was unjustified and illegal.
The police officials are now due to appear before court on July 2.
A lawyer representing the six accused had said that they "did nothing wrong," after criminal charges were announced by Mosby earlier this month.
Gray's death sparked off weeks of protests, riots and looting in Baltimore.
