Chirag Suri dropped from UAE ODI squad against Ireland

Batsman Chirag Suri, who became the first UAE player to be picked in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last month, has been left out of the 14-member squad for first ODI of the two-match series against Ireland beginning March 2 at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
The 22-year-old, who made his last appearance for UAE during a List A match against England Lions in December, was a part of the national squad in the Tri-nation ODI series against Hong Kong and Scotland in January but he did not featured in any game.
Suri, who is yet to make an ODI or a T20I appearance for UAE, was bought by Gujarat Lions for his base price of Rs. 10 lakh in IPL player's auction on February 20, ESPNcricinfo reported.
While wicketkeeper-batsman Saqlain Haider and Usman Mushtaq have also been dropped, batsmen Rameez Shahzad and Laxman Sreekumar have earned a recall for the upcoming series.
Rohan Mustafa has been named to lead the ODI squad, with Shaiman Anwar being called as vice-captain.
The UAE squad is as follows:
Rohan Mustafa (capt), Adnan Mufti, Ahmed Raza, Amjad Javed, Ghulam Shabber, Imran Haider, Mohammad Naveed, Mohammad Qasim, Muhammad Usman, Qadeer Ahmed, Shaiman Anwar (vice-capt), Zahoor Khan, Rameez Shahzad, Laxman Sreekumar.
