The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Wives Welfare Association held a cultural programme in Srinagar for the families of paramilitary personnel to socialise and reduce stress.

The family members of the CRPF personnel participated enthusiastically in this programme held yesterday.

"This programme is very important for us. We spend 20 days of a month in tension. My husband goes out in the morning and comes back in the evening; I am alone the entire day. These kinds of programmes engage us throughout the day and also help us showcase the hidden talent," said one of the participants.

Among the many activities organised during the cultural programme was a fashion show, rangoli competition and a healthy-baby show.

A special lecture on women empowerment was also conducted and the day also focused on gender issues, appreciation and respect for females.

The audience enjoyed the dance competition where the security personnel participated along with their wives.

The motto of the event was to lessen the increasing stress among the family members of the paramilitary personnel, who are out on the field performing their duties.
