Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda has described the two incidents involving Indian Olympic Association (IOA) officials in Glasgow, Scotland, as unfortunate.

Hooda said, "It is very unfortunate that some of our officials have put the name of the entire country in bad light. I hope that strictest possible action will be taken against them."

He added, "At the same time we should not downplay the achievement of our athletes because of the misconduct of the officials."

According to Hooda, our sportspersons have done a good job by winning medals which deserves appreciation and let's not discredit that because of the behaviour of the Indian Olympics Association officials.

On Saturday, Rajeev Mehta, secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association, was arrested for drunken driving, while wrestling referee Virender Singh Malik was arrested on charges of sexual assault.
