Delhi Elections: EC bans opinion, exit polls till Feb. 7

Two days ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Election Commission has banned dissemination and publication of exit polls or opinion polls and their results from Thursday till Saturday evening, the date of polling.

The Commission has also prohibited displaying of any election matter, like any poll survey during the period of 48 hours, which includes the hour fixed for conclusion of poll.

The Commission has further asked the Chief Electoral Officer of the national capital to ensure that electors do not carry cameras and mobile phones within a distance of 200 meters of the polling station.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5.
