Nipun Malhotra, who was denied entry to a restaurant at DLF Promenade Mall in Vasant Kunj for being differently-abled, on Saturday said that he does not want to go for a legal battle but demanded an apology.

"My friends told the manager that I could perfectly move around on wheels but I was denied entry into the club. I have not raised a case nor do I intend to raise a case. All I want from them is an apology saying that 'yes' we acted stupid. I just want them to accept their mistake," he told ANI here.

Nipun further said that he was stopped by four security guards from entering the place but added that several of his friends were permitted to enter the restaurant before him.

Premjit Kumar, GM Corporate, Keya restaurant, however, said it is all a misunderstanding.

"Yesterday, he was not denied entry because of being differently-abled but the group was denied entry because of more guys in the group. We have restricted stag entries. Since it was Holi, we denied entry to a lot of groups. We have sent an unconditional written apology to him," he told ANI here.

Nipun is a disability rights activist and the co-founder of the Nipman Foundation.
