Dubai Open: Srikanth bows out, Sindhu advances

Indian ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, who has won four Super Series title this year, has crashed out of the season-ending Dubai Super Series Finals after his second consecutive defeat in the event on Thursday.
Srikanth lost to world No 7 Chou Tien Chen in straight games 18-21, 18-21 in the men's singles match that lasted over 43 minutes.
Srikanth had earlier conceived 18-21, 18-21 defeat from World No. 1 and defending champion Viktor Axelsen in his opening match on Wednesday.
However, in women's singles, Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu advanced in the semi-finals of the event after defeating Japan's Sayaka Sato 21-13, 21-12 in just 36 minutes.
Earlier, the Indian shuttler defeated Bingjiao 21-11, 16-21, 21-18 in a match.
